An interactive website designed to educate global audiences about Kanote, a traditional Myanmar floral art form. Using animations, parallax effects, and interactive timelines, the platform conveys cultural narratives visually. It provides accessible and engaging content, enhancing global appreciation of Myanmar’s artistic heritage while offering an immersive storytelling experience.
-
Many people, both within and outside Myanmar, are unaware of Kanote due to the limited availability of educational resources and platforms. Existing resources primarily exist in the Myanmar language, which utilizes complex terminology that is challenging for even the younger generation within Myanmar to understand fully. This language barrier further impedes broader accessibility and engagement with this culturally significant art form.
-
The solution involves creating a digital storytelling educational platform that offers easy access to information, and images about Kanote online, allowing people to learn about this traditional art form conveniently from anywhere in the world.
Process
Conducted in-depth research on Myanmar culture to contextualize Kanote.
Created A3 collaged research posters (moodboards) to explore visual aspects of traditional art.
Experimented with motion graphics: 3D vectors and partial animations to convey Kanote’s beauty and significance.
Developed a 3D lotus animation using Blender and Figma for interactive storytelling.
Tested visual storytelling methods to create an immersive user experience.
Researched and implemented LottieFiles for scalable animations.
Used Webflow to build a smooth, interactive, and visually appealing website.
Outcome
A fully functional, interactive storytelling website that presents Kanote’s history, techniques, and designs in an engaging and accessible way. The website enhances global awareness and appreciation of Myanmar’s traditional art while offering an immersive user experience.
